As always these meetings are the 3rd Thursday of every month, 7 PM at La Bella's! Bring people with you to join the discussion, enjoy the Pizza and drinks! We want to welcome Luis Martinez from Tees and Ink to the WBBA meetings! Local Highlights: Sovereign Bank on Lehigh Street has introduced a Business of the Month Program! Currently PC Stop N Shop has a display in the Bank, which will be replaced by Valley Wide Shoes in September. If anyone is interested in joining the rotation of displays, please contact Cindy Jones at the Bank! She will be happy to explain the program. Speaking of Valley Wide Shoes, Cat County 96.1 had Free Weenie Wednesday there! Check out the pictures! http://www.catcountry96.fm/PhotoWall.asp?id=42776 WBBA Highlights:Robert Anthony Pitera of West of East, Inc. is generously donating his time and effort to update our website! He is in the middle of doing a major overhaul on everything, so please "excuse the dust" and keep checking back! Some of the new stuff so far is awesome and will filter out some of the problems that have been seen before. As with any evolving website, Rob is making this website the BEST and that requires time to work out the bugs! Current Projects: Being discussed is an advertising campaign designed to raise the awareness of the public to the various businesses inside the Borough. We would like to create half-page ads for the defined shopping areas in Wilson, since Wilson doesn't have a "Main Street" like some of our neighbors like Easton or Bethlehem. Building on the already named "Edelman Center", which is the 25th Street shopping area bordering Palmer, we'd like to create and define other areas like Northampton Street and Butler Street, giving them their own identity while having all the districts advertised under the branding, "Wilson Borough: Small Town, Big Possibilities!" This is an ongoing discussion. Any views or suggestions for current and future projects are greatly appreciated. Feel free to post suggestions on the website, or bring them to the meetings and discuss in person!! Your involvement as well as your neighboring businesses is crucial to turning the Main Street issue into an advantage. We are workig on layoutideas and the district names so please lend your voice to the discussion! Proposed Projects: Proposed at the meeting was a possibility of a Cruise Night in the Borough. WBBA members are looking into the requirements of such an event and will keep everyone posted. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday August 20th at 7PM at La Bella's Restaurant. We look forward to seeing you!! |
