Small Business Cartoon: Office Red Flag Warnings

Jargon, idioms, and catchphrases – where would cartoonists be without them?

This cartoon came, as they often do, after reading the paper, staring blankly out my window (I make the neighborhood squirrels nervous), and making sure I occasionally scribble something that looks meaningful so my wife believes I’m working.

I’d run across “red flag” in my reading and after turning it over in my head for a while, bullfighters’ red capes came to mind and I got to figure out how to draw a bull sitting in an office chair.

It was one of those “why didn’t I think of that before?!” moments that come occasionally when you let your mind wander, which, I believe, we should all do more often.
